Staying green with sustainability

Sustainability plays a very important role here at Westfield Mall of the Netherlands and we work hard every day to keep our mall as green as possible. From heat and cold storage to energy and waste recycling, we are always looking for new ways to improve what we do. The mall is BREEAM-NL certified and provides external audits every year – in short, it keeps us accountable and ensures we deliver the best sustainability environment possible.

In terms of what we do to stay green, we are passionate about recycling and commit to the recycling of all plastic, glass, paper, cardboard and kitchen waste. We also ensure that all our residual waste is used for energy generation. To encourage the use of electric cars we have installed charging points in our parking garages. And more recently we’ve added our spectacular living wall outside the mall. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg, here’s more on what we do and will continue to do.
