Using digital screens to enhance the shopping experience
Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield has teamed up with Ocean Outdoor Netherlands who will provide all digital screens in Westfield Mall of the Netherlands. Ocean Outdoor Netherland’s innovative and spectacular vision echoes the ambition of the mall making them an ideal partner, with the company also providing digital screens at other Westfield locations such as Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City and in several cities in Scandinavia.
With the mall expecting 15 million visitors every year, these screens are a great media channel for brands to utilise. On the central square, a place where you can find the latest shopping trends, boutiques and pop-up stores, there will be a rotating screen of 20 square meters as well as 21 digital totems. Of these, 17 will be placed strategically inside the mall and 4 outside to hit all potential customers.
Due to the scale and ambition of the mall, we approached this project as if it were our own city with several shopping streets, instead of a shopping center,
explains Xavier Tilman, Managing Director of Ocean Outdoor Netherlands.
Because everything is fully digital and interactive, the screens really contribute to the total experience that Westfield Mall of the Netherlands will offer.
The launch of the digital screens will be tied in with the opening of Westfield Mall of the Netherlands, scheduled for March 2021.
